An incredible memory from tour was running into Mia and her human in LA. they just happened to be outside. Mia was my first puppy to share the stage with, and was MY puppy name option that got picked by our rat, Toby. We would write name options on small pieces of paper, scattered them in her cage, she would pick one, and before she devoured it Toby’s handler would snatch it back - and that would be the new puppy’s name! My name Mia got picked, later that week we were making our Broadway debuts together.

I didn’t know Mia’s human before meeting Mia outside when we were both on a walk. Mia was adopted after she was too big to perform. The seasoned theatre vets would be placed up for adoption and someone with a degree of relation to the show would adopt.

Mia seemed to very much remember me, and came bounding shaking her tail to say hello with such enthusiasm - and would you believe it! After three minutes of chit-chat, I realized Mia was the same Mia, my co-star, and who was adopted after her “Curious” run by a wonderful dresser who also happened to be in LA staying at the same apartment!
